CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS….

This is an opportunity for community groups, resident groups, local businesses, individuals etc who may be interested in participating in the new Manchester Day Parade.

Would your group/organisation/family like to take part in the first Manchester Day Parade…a celebration of all that’s great about our city? This is your chance to be part of an amazing procession that brings colour, music, dance and larger-than-life characters to the streets. What do you think is so fantastic about your city that it’s ‘Out of this World’? Who are your heroes? What bit of Manchester past or present would you like to celebrate?

There’ll be opportunities to create floats & costumes, or work with dance specialists to develop movement and dance, or to come along on the day and get dressed up in fantastic outfits and make up.

There are 3 levels of involvement that you can apply for:

Gold – for groups that want to work with an artist to develop your own ideas for designing a float, or creating costumes, or making music or movement
Silver – for groups that want to take part and already have costumes/a float, or groups that want to take part but have only a limited time to work in advance of the parade
Bronze – for individuals, small groups or families who want to take part and are willing to work with other people to create a section of the parade, or want to get involved but don’t know where to start…

We can’t promise to involve everyone that wants to take part in the first year, but we’re certainly going to try!
