Youth Capital Fund

The YCF is a pot of money given to us by the Government to be used on things like doing up buildings, buying mobile resources, youth shelters, etc.

This fund is also managed by the group of young people that manage the Youth Opportunity Fund.

The YCF provides opportunities to create or enhance facilities such as buildings or outdoor spaces as identified by young people.

All applications will go to a panel of young people from across Manchester, supported by Manchester Youth Service and other services, who are interested in encouraging everyone in their community to have a say.

Criteria for applications

  • For all young people aged 13-19 years (or up to aged 25 where the young people have special needs)
  • Provide positive opportunities and places for young people
  • Provide for young people to develop knowledge, confidence, skills and abilities; gain recognition and/ or accreditation
  • Increase the well being of young people
  • Must fit into one of the five Every Child Matters Themes
  • Priority to young people identified as disadvantaged
  • Young people able to submit additional information with their application
  • Must have permission or approval for changes from organisation
